Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City is home to the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs. Over the last two seasons, the back-to-back Super Bowl champions have dominated the competition both on their home turf and on the road.
In addition to serving as the Kansas City Chiefs stadium, the athletic complex will be one of 16 venues around North America and Mexico that will host games for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Before or after a Chiefs game — or any other event hosted at Arrowhead Stadium — there’s always plenty to eat, drink and do in Kansas City. Where to Go After an Event at Arrowhead Stadium
Kansas City has a number of thriving entertainment options, though live music and other nightlife is primarily concentrated in the city’s downtown Power and & Light District. Below, dive into some of the city’s most popular venues.
Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland
1228 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64105
One of the most historic venues in Kansas City, The Midland Theatre has been a cornerstone of the city’s Power & Light District for nearly a century since it first opened in 1927. From the 1950s to the early ‘70s, the building was home to the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s headquarters under the organization’s very first director, Walter Byers. More recently, the 3,200-capacity theater has hosted concerts by Harry Connick Jr., Shinedown, Bob Dylan, Fleet Foxes and others.

Uptown Theater
3700 Broadway Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64111
Months after The Midland’s unveiling, the Uptown Theater opened, somewhat ironically, just three miles south in Kansas City’s Valentine neighborhood. Built in the Italian Renaissance style as an atmospheric theater, the Uptown made its mark as a unique fixture in the community, and while it originally showed movies and hosted the vaudeville circuit, it was restored and converted into a live music venue in the 1990s. Since then, a wide variety of artists including Ashley McBryde, Gracie Abrams, Ann Wilson, NLE Choppa and Yungblud have all played its historic stage.

recordBar
1520 Grand Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64108
A much more recent addition to Kansas City’s live music scene, recordBAR opened its doors in 2005 in a strip mall. Now located along Grand Blvd in the city’s popular Power & Lights District, the intimate venue offers all-ages shows for fans 18+ as well as food, cocktails and outdoor seating. Along with local and regional acts, recordBar has brought the likes of Chiddy Bang, The National Parks, Illuminati Hotties and Kimbra to the Heart of America.

Ameristar Casino Hotel
3200 North Ameristar Drive, Kansas City, MO 64161
Ameristar Casino Hotel is one of the buzziest gambling centers in the greater Kansas City area. In addition to gaming, dining and luxury accommodations, Ameristar Casino Hotel regularly attracts major acts to the area for concerts and other live entertainment. Artists who’ve played the casino’s Star Pavilion in recent years include Grand Funk Railroad, Ginuwine, Air Supply, Rick Springfield and 98 Degrees.
