Kampala, Uganda: Grove Fest organizers in Kampala, Uganda, are calling for a full $6,200 refund from South African artist LeeMcKrazy and his management, Gipa Entertainment, after the artist failed to appear for a paid headline performance on May 24, 2026.
According to the organizers, LeeMcKrazy was booked and paid in full to perform at Grove Fest.
Despite confirmed arrangements, the artist did not show up, did not provide a valid reason, and has not refunded the booking fee.
Timeline: May 24 – Grove Fest no-show. September 30 – Formal demand sent to Gipa Entertainment. October 2 – Follow-up sent. October 7 – Refund deadline passed. As of today, no refund or formal response has been received.
“We paid in good faith and promoted the artist to our fans. A no-show without a refund hurts not just us, but the trust between South African artists and promoters across Africa?isaid the Grove Fest organizer.
Grove Fest is calling on Gipa Entertainment to refund the $6,200 immediately and is urging promoters to exercise due diligence when booking. The organizers have proof of payment, booking confirmations, and correspondence available for media verification.
