For fans of fantasy, strategy and beautifully illustrated collectible trading cards, Magic: The Gathering’s Secrets of Strixhaven offers a return to the imaginative setting of Strixhaven University.

Strixhaven University is where magic, learning, rivalry and more all live under one enchanted roof. The cards are built around the five Strixhaven colleges, each with its own personality and play style. Silverquill is sharp, stylish and word-driven; Prismari is expressive and artistic; Witherbloom leans into nature, life and decay; Lorehold celebrates history and adventure; and Quandrix turns mathematics and possibility into magic. For players, that means a set filled with different ways to build decks, cast spells and find a college that feels like a perfect fit.

Artwork and Visual Richness
For collectors, the appeal is just as strong. Secrets of Strixhaven brings back the Mystical Archive, a special selection of iconic instant and sorcery cards from Magic’s history, this time with an updated frame designed to show off even more of the artwork. There are also special treatments to look out for, including borderless cards, full-art Spellcraft lands, Special Guests cards and Japanese Mystical Archive cards in Silver Scroll foil. Collector Boosters may also include one of the highly limited serialized Emeritus of Ideation cards, illustrated by Mark Poole as a callback to Ancestral Recall.

That visual richness is part of what makes the set so appealing beyond the game table. The artwork moves between gothic campus mystery, magical experimentation, dramatic spellcasting and character-led fantasy. It is the kind of set that rewards those who look closely at it and appreciate the detail.

“Secrets of Strixhaven is one of those releases that speaks to different kinds of Magic fans at once,” says Alex Irwin, spokesperson for Solarpop. “Players get a set with strong personalities and interesting strategies, while collectors get beautiful treatments and artwork.”

Accessible for new players
Secrets of Strixhaven feels like an invitation to enrol, explore and collect. So, newer players who enjoy fantasy worlds, school-of-magic storytelling and play will find an accessible way into Magic’s universe through Strixhaven; while long-time fans will enjoy the layered references, returning themes and collectible chase cards. For families, friends and established gaming groups, it also brings a strong sense of identity through choosing a college, building around its strengths and seeing how that personality plays out on the tabletop battlefield.

Whether you are chasing the perfect spell, the most beautiful card or simply the college that suits your style, Strixhaven has opened its doors again.
