How the 2026 U20 Men’s Six Nations Player of the Championship was selected
For 2026, a refined three-stage process was introduced to ensure the winner represents the pinnacle of both expert analysis and fan passion.
1. Union Nominations The shortlist was built from the ground up by the teams themselves. Each Union nominated three players (one from their own squad and two from rival nations) based on internal coaching and analyst feedback. These nominations, combined with Player of the Match awards won throughout the tournament, determined our final four.
2. The Expert Panel The shortlist then moved to a dedicated panel of international broadcasters. Each expert ranked their top three players using a points-based system:
1st Choice: 5 points
2nd Choice: 3 points
3rd Choice: 1 point
3. The Public Vote Finally, fans were invited to vote for one of the four shortlisted players – playing a critical role in deciding the 2026 winner.
