Hyundai Automotive South Africa has once again secured its position among the top four automotive brands in South Africa, as reported by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers (NAAMSA) for July 2025.  The company continues to demonstrate consistency and resilience in a highly competitive market, recording an impressive 29% year-on-year growth, for the period January to July in the vehicle sales.

The below table shows Hyundai Automotive SA vs Market Retail Year-on-Year performance:

“Our 2,766 dealer retail sales in July are the best in three and a half years.  The strong sales growth is an indicator that customers are choosing the Hyundai brand not only for our safety, durability, value and fuel efficiency, but for the service, trust and excellence we deliver,” said Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa.

Hyundai Automotive South Africa’s performance reflects a broader strategy focused on a customer-first service, robust aftersales support a product range that covers 95% of the market and continues to resonate with both families and business owners across the country.  The Hyundai Grand i10, was the best performing model in July with 1,075 vehicles sold, followed by the Hyundai EXTER with 435.  Meanwhile, the Hyundai EX8, with 40 units is also the best monthly sales the company has achieved in the last three years.

“Staying in the top four is not just a position, it is a commitment to our customers, our dealer network and the trust we have built over the years.  This performance reflects the strength of our product line-up, which continues to meet the evolving transport needs of the South African market,” Anderson added.

One of Hyundai Automotive South Africa’s consistency and growth, is its dealership footprint, which ensures accessibility and nationwide customer support.  “With our proud 25 years track record of operating in South Africa, our corporate customer base has grown exponentially, based on our reputation of being a trusted brand, with excellent parts supply as well as the good resale value of our vehicles,” concluded Anderson.
