A Different Way to Start the Morning

R25 coffee before 8am… What? Starbucks? And it’s not just a standard Americano? Did I hear right? YES! Mornings set the tone for the rest of the day. Whether it’s a quick stop before work, a pause before lectures, or a moment carved out before the city fully wakes up, those early hours tend to belong to people who move with intention.

In a market where most coffee chains price a tall latte between R37 and R45, and even fast-food options sit closer to R30, Starbucks is doing something unexpected. This is not a stripped back, basic option. This is the full menu of espresso favourites, priced below what you would pay almost anywhere else.

Starbucks is leaning into that moment with a new morning special across all stores, with selected tall espresso based beverages, hot or iced, from a Cappuccino, Latte, Caramel Macchiato, Americano, Mocha, White Mocha, Classic Iced Cappuccino, Iced Latte, Iced Caramel Macchiato, Iced White Mocha, Iced Mocha, and Iced Americano; available for only R25, offering customers a simple way to begin the day on their own terms.

Early mornings at Starbucks with your favourite barista writing you a special message, or bumping into your regular neighbour, it’s the perfect way to have this morning community ritual moment. There’s a sense that everyone there is on their way somewhere. This promotion fits neatly into that window, encouraging people to arrive a little earlier and take a moment before the day takes over.

The focus is on ease and consistency. The same drinks, the same stores, simply offered at a different price point during the calmest part of the day. An invitation to slow down briefly, even when time feels tight.

The R25 morning special is available at all Starbucks stores, every morning before 8:00 am until 20 February, on selected tall espresso-based beverages. A small shift in routine, but one that can quietly change how the day begins.

Terms and Conditions:

This offer is valid daily from store opening until 08:00 am, until 20 February 2026, on select tall beverages only, while stocks last.

The offer is not redeemable in conjunction with eBucks, or any vouchers, and is not available on delivery platforms.

The offer is limited to Tall sized hot or iced versions of the following beverages only: Cappuccino, Latte, Caramel Macchiato, Americano, Mocha, White Mocha, Classic Iced Cappuccino, Iced Latte, Iced Caramel Macchiato, Iced White Mocha, Iced Mocha, and Iced Americano.

Any modifiers, customisations, upgrades, or add ons will be charged at full price.

Self-respect cannot be hunted. It cannot be purchased. It is never for sale. It cannot be fabricated out of Public Relations. It comes to us when we are alone, in quiet moments, in quiet places, when we suddenly realize that, knowing the good, we have done it; knowing the beautiful, we have served it; knowing the truth we have spoken it. Myth: It’s not really advertising, but it’s basically the same as marketing. Fact: Advertising, marketing, and PR often work together, but they’re all distinct fields! In the age of social media and content creation, the line between PR and marketing has been blurred – but it still exists. PR is definitely a piece of the marketing puzzle for most businesses, and confusion can sometimes arise when press releases appear alongside marketing campaigns or ads on Twitter and Facebook. The real difference is that marketing focuses on promoting a company’s products and services, with a more direct line to driving sales and revenue. PR’s impact, on the other hand, is less directly quantifiable; it primarily focuses on building a company’s profile and reputation. While they do work in conjunction with one another, it’s important to take into consideration the goals, strategies, and tactics that distinguish the two.
