AFCON Preview: South Africa vs Egypt – Orlando Pirates FC | SA News

The opening stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) heats up on Boxing Day with a clash of Group B heavyweights in South Africa and Egypt.

One of the main attractions in a stacked Friday night fixture list, the highly-anticipated encounter takes place at Stade Adrar in Agadir on the coast of Morocco and gets underway at 17:00. It’s a meeting between two pre-tournament favourites who each got their campaign to a winning start earlier in the week to take up the top two positions in a tough group.
