AI in the Workplace Training Helps South African Organisations Move from AI Hype to Governed, Practical Use

Johannesburg, South Africa – Many South African organisations are already using tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot in day-to-day work. However, without clear governance, policies, and accountability, this informal AI adoption is increasingly exposing businesses to operational, reputational, and compliance risk.

College Africa Group has launched its AI in the Workplace Training South Africa programme to help organisations adopt AI responsibly, safely, and productively. The programme is designed for HR, finance, administration, and management teams and focuses on real workplace use cases rather than technical theory.

Unlike generic AI courses, the training emphasises a core principle: AI produces language, not truth. Human leadership and accountability must always remain in control. Participants learn how to use AI tools to support communication, reporting, administration, and productivity while aligning AI use with internal policies and POPIA requirements.

“AI adoption is happening faster than most organisations can govern it,” said Arnold Muscat, Director at College Africa Group. “Our focus is helping teams move from unstructured experimentation to safe, practical, and accountable AI use that delivers real business value.”

The AI in the Workplace Training is positioned as a foundational programme, recommended before role-based AI training for HR, finance, or Excel users. It is available in-person and online across South Africa.

And certainly when I reached La Chorerra in 1971 I had a price on my head by the FBI, I was running out of money, I was at the end of my rope. And then “THEY” recruited me and said, “you know, with a mouth like yours there\’s a place for you in our organization“. And I\’ve worked in deep background positions about which the less said the better. And then about 15 years ago they shifted me into Public Relations and I\’ve been there to the present. – Terence McKenna
