An experience like no other!

17 August 2023 by Alan

A hyped-up experience awaits spectators and participants at the first ever Jozi 10s. The City of Gold is ready to host the ultimate two-day festival of sports and gees! It’s all happening at St. Stithians College in Sandton on the 25th and 26th of August 2023.

Jozi 10s have pulled out all the stops in order to excite and entertain. With some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment lined up to make an appearance, it promises to be a festival to remember. Here are the Jozi 10s event ambassadors:

Springbok legend Morne Steyn, former South African Netball player and award-winning TV presenter Vanes-Mari Du Toit. The big names don’t stop there.

Here are some of the entertainment acts you can expect to enjoy, Timo ODV, Rubber Duc, Afrikaans artist Eloff, and many more, with some unannounced surprise acts included.

For those looking to relive their glory days, Jozi-6 10s will be hosting the inaugural Old School Cup. Old boys from all schools are encouraged to dust off their boots, strap their hammies, and reignite those old school rivalries in a league of their own as they take a trip down memory lane. Jozi 10s are also running Alumni and Corporate team specials and discounts, so call up your friends, get a team together, and enjoy all that the Jozi 10s has to offer.

Saturday is set for a celebrity game of TAG rugby between some of South Africa’s most well known and loved singers and actors. You can expect to see the likes of Jack Parow, Francois van Coke, Joe Black, Elof, and other artists take the field for Team Singers. While Nico Swart, Adrian Steyn, Werner Coetser, David Louw, and friends represent Team Actors.

Team registration starts at 17:00 pm on Friday. There will be some social activities to enjoy, like beer pong, dodgeball, and darts, before the weekend starts. Don’t forget to throw on your best outfits and bring the vibe because at 19:00 pm, the best dress prize giving will be hosted by power couple Francois Jacobs and Nykie Pretorious, with the winners getting FREE ENTRY for the 2024 event!

After a big awards celebration, the Springboks vs. New Zealand world cup warm-up game will be live streamed on the big screen from 20:00 pm in the Jozi 10s FanPark, with a half-time Q&A hosted by Vanes-Mari & Morne Steyn. All teams will receive promo codes that they can share with family and friends to gain FREE access (if you don’t have a promo code, tickets will only be R50 at the gate). There will be live music and entertainment from some of South Africa’s best acts before the gates close at 23:00.

Saturday is set to be action-packed with an exciting schedule! Here is how it’s all going to happen:

Gates will open at 7 am, and all those who do not register on Friday are encouraged to be there early to avoid delays. Netball, Rugby & Dodgeball games start at 8 am, and all teams are expected to be there an hour before their first game. At 10 am, something important will happen: the bar opens for those looking to quench their thirst. Live entertainment starts at 14:30 pm and is followed by the rugby and netball finals at 16:30 pm. Encourage your supporters and fans to join the Gwijo Squad and become a part of the sports fan’s movement unique to our great country that has the vision and purpose of stimulating inclusive involvement for supporters.

The evening festivities kick off at 18:00 pm with the official prize-giving. From 19:00 pm onwards, the fun really ramps up with entertainment acts, including a few surprise acts taking centre stage. The party will continue well into the night, with gates closing at 23:00 pm.

Jozi 10s is going all out to announce itself as one of the premier 10s festivals to be a part of. With a stacked line-up of entertainment stars, sporting legends, festival ambassadors, and celebrities set to perform, partake, and party, the Jozi 10s is set to shine!
