Following the captivating success of the Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami, Johnnie Walker once again redefined luxury with the South African launch of the limited-edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet. This glacial fantasy-themed event, held at The Forum in Hyde Park, Johannesburg, was a bold disruption of the summer season, transforming the venue into a high-altitude haven inspired by snowy mountain resorts and the elegance of après-ski culture. While Johannesburg basks in its summer warmth, Johnnie Walker Blue brought a taste of winter luxury to their guests, blending the spirit of snowy adventures with the vibrancy of South Africa’s summer.

The exclusive gathering invited Johannesburg’s high-net-worth consumers and esteemed guests to experience this newest masterpiece in a setting where opulence meets adventure. Guests were treated to a unique sensory journey that highlighted the craftsmanship and artistry behind the Ice Chalet blend, meticulously crafted by Master Blender Emma Walker. This special-edition whisky combines cinnamon-spiced apple notes, warm cloves, and Alpine smoke, embodying the very essence of winter luxury. Guests explored the distinctive blend’s flavour profile through expertly paired dishes, enhancing the sophisticated tasting experience.

In collaboration with luxury lifestyle brand Perfect Moment, the Ice Chalet not only introduced an elevated whisky experience but also a bespoke bottle design and a reversible crossbody bag inspired by the “Blue Hour.” This detail perfectly reflects Johnnie Walker’s commitment to bridging elegance with functionality, allowing guests to carry a touch of luxury with them.

Keval Ramraj, Marketing Manager for Johnnie Walker Southern, West & Central Africa, expressed his pride in this latest innovation, “Innovation is embedded in our DNA. The Ice Chalet is a celebration of craftsmanship and luxury that offers our discerning consumers a truly unique experience. We are thrilled to share this extraordinary blend that captures the warmth of winter and the boldness of adventure.”

The event at The Forum Hyde Park was a multisensory immersion, with cutting-edge light and sound design transforming the venue into an ice-inspired paradise. As with last year’s Elusive Umami experience, the Ice Chalet highlighted Johnnie Walker’s signature approach of blending taste with sensory elements to redefine whisky appreciation.

The Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ice Chalet is now available at select retailers across South Africa. Each sip of this luxurious blend offers whisky aficionados the opportunity to partake in a legacy of excellence honed over generations.

Media clips used to require actual clipping. To see if PR efforts paid off, a company hired women in Maine to read through every single newspaper. Every time they found mention of a client, they underlined it with red wax pencil and were paid around two cents. PR pros would paste these clips into a “clip book” and show it to each client.

You don’t have journalists over there anymore, what they have is Public Relations people. That’s what they have over in America now. Two-hundred and fifty thousand people in Public Relations. And a dwindling number of actual reporters and journalists. –
