Another Month, Another Milestone

31 January 2025 by Guest

Jetour South Africa has revealed that more than 2 000 retail units of its Jetour Dashing and X70 Plus models have been sold since the brand’s local launch at the end of September last year.

“We are extremely proud to have reached this important achievement. South Africa was always going to be an exciting market for Jetour to enter, with many opportunities for us to make our mark,” says Nic Campbell, Vice President of Jetour South Africa. “Jetour’s success in South Africa has been driven by a range of models designed to cater to diverse consumer preferences, from compact SUVs to family-oriented vehicles. The company has also placed strong emphasis on its after-sales service and a robust dealer network, ensuring customers have access to support and peace of mind”.

Globally, 2024 saw Jetour break industry records by reaching an impressive 568 387 units in annual sales, reflecting an 80.3% increase compared to the previous year. Locally, this SUV brand’s innovative designs, value for money and commitment to putting customers first, has resulted in Jetour steadily gaining traction in the local market.

“Nowadays, customers can easily test drive up to five different brands before deciding which car to buy. Reaching 2 000 vehicles sold locally is a testament to the strong market demand for our vehicles and the trust that South African consumers have placed in the Jetour brand. This milestone reflects our dedication to providing vehicles that combine cutting-edge technology, superior performance, and excellent value,” Campbell says.

Naamsa reported that 2024 was a relatively lackluster year for South Africa’s new vehicle market, with passenger vehicle sales driving growth, while the bakkie and light commercial vehicle sectors continued to experience a decline.

The industry association stated that new vehicle sales are currently running 3.5% below the same period in 2023, and that it is unlikely that the market will return to pre-pandemic levels in 2025, although potential interest rate cuts in the coming year could help improve vehicle affordability across all segments.

Considering that the new vehicle market is still facing mediocre growth, achieving this level of car sales in just over three months is a clear indication of the value the Jetour brand offers to South African consumers.

With its cutting-edge technology, spacious interiors, and top-notch safety features, the 7-seater Jetour X70 Plus is the ideal choice for families and adventurers alike, offering a perfect blend of comfort, style, and dependability. The cost of the Jetour X70 Plus Momentum is R454 900 and the Deluxe is priced at R484 900.

Starting at R439,900 for the Momentum model and R469,900 for the Deluxe, the 5-seater Jetour Dashing combines advanced technology, contemporary style, and vibrant energy. Its sleek, dynamic lines and forward-thinking design make it a standout choice for those seeking a modern, innovative driving experience.

Looking ahead, Jetour is committed to further expansion and growth in South Africa, with plans to introduce additional models, grow its dealer network and strengthen its footprint across the country.

“We remain focused on providing South African drivers with an exceptional driving experience, and we look forward to building on this momentum as we continue to grow our presence in the market,” Campbell adds.

Exchange Rate: The changes of the exchange rate from US$ to South African Rand will bring challenges to importers but offers a huge opportunity to export South African products with a competitive price. It also encourages South African to source products in South Africa and will increase the production here.
