Arnold Clark Men’s Premiership 2025/26 Draft Confirmed

5 September 2025 by Guest

The 2025/26 Arnold Clark Men’s Premiership senior academy and pro drafts have been confirmed.

Edinburgh Rugby and Glasgow Warriors have had their professional and senior academy players assigned to Premiership clubs and can release them for additional game time, or during their injury rehabilitations.

Players will become available to the Premiership clubs depending on individual plans outlined by their professional club.

Edinburgh recently named 24 senior academy players, including six new faces. Glasgow named 23, of which five are new to the system.

The Arnold Clark Men’s Premiership will offer an opportunity for these players to play regularly, in addition to game time with their pro sides.

Warriors players have predominantly been allocated to west based clubs, whilst Edinburgh players have been drafted mostly to Edinburgh and Borders based clubs to create alignment with clubs in their local catchment area. All pro-academy players have been split evenly across the 10 clubs.

A cap of two pro players per Premiership team will be in operation in each game during the season to ensure there is a fair balance of pro players being used in Premiership matches.

Kenny Murray, Head of Player Transition and Scotland U20 Head Coach said: “The Arnold Clark Men’s Premiership represents a valuable opportunity for the best young players in the country to get game minutes at the top domestic level.

“Along with their involvement with their pro teams, as well as national age-grade representation for a lot of the pro-academy players, the Premiership will be a good platform for them to play in a high-pressure environment.

“In order for our academy players to continually improve, they need to play regularly, so getting them playing in high-level matches when they are not involved with their pro clubs is great for their development.”
