Automechanika Johannesburg Marks 10th Anniversary

21 October 2025 by Guest

Automechanika Johannesburg 2025 boasts a focused line-up of conferences, talks, awards and the Alexandra Automotive Hub and Panel Discussion, that will bring together leaders from across the value chain. Organised by Messe Frankfurt South Africa, the 10th anniversary edition of the largest trade fair of its kind will host high-impact forums designed to drive innovation, standards and collaboration. Local and global exhibitors will focus on these categories: Parts & Components, Accessories & Customising, Management & Digital Solutions, Repair & Maintenance, Car Wash & Reconditioning, and Electronics & Systems.

NEVs, Human Capital, and Digital Logistics

The event line-up features the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Conference, delivered in partnership with CILT South Africa, CILT Namibia and CILT Zimbabwe. Themed “An Exploration of the Latest Developments in New Energy Vehicles”, this regional gathering of transport and logistics decision-makers will examine strategic imperatives shaping the automotive sector.

By linking the energy transition with skills, sustainability, and technology, the CILT conference positions itself as a must-attend for logistics and transport professionals.

Technology, Sustainability and the Next Era of Body Repair

The Crash Repairers Association (CRA) Conference will convene collision repair professionals, OEMs, insurers and suppliers to address the trends redefining the vehicle body repair industry. As a paid conference, delegates can expect sessions on emerging repair standards, enabling technologies and sustainability practices, with practical engagement at supplier stands to see the latest tools and innovations first-hand.

Also on the agenda is the Right to Repair SA Talk, the theme of which is “Access to Technical Information – A Vital Piece in the Puzzle.” This free-to-attend session will unpack why open access to vehicle data is essential for workshops, mechanics and aftermarket businesses to compete effectively and serve customers with transparency and quality. Attendees can network with peers while contributing to a fairer, more competitive industry.

Empowering the Repair and Maintenance Ecosystem

The MIWA Spanner Torque Pavilion returns to bring together the full repair and maintenance ecosystem, from workshops and component manufacturers to end users. In conjunction, the RMI will host an engaging car door wrapping competition on their stand.

Another highlight will be the Alexandra Automotive Industrial Hub Showcase as well as the Panel Discussion themed “Unlocking Opportunities: Empowering Township SMMEs in the Automotive Value Chain”, hosted by the City of Johannesburg.

Recognising Excellence in Fleet Safety and Operations

Automechanika Johannesburg 2025 will once again host the MasterDrive Fleet Safety Awards, which recognises excellence and innovation among South Africa’s fleet community. With R250,000 in prizes and categories including Best Fleet Manager, Road Warrior, Best Organisation, Most Improved Truck Stop and Sustainability Leader, the awards highlight best practice in safety, technology adoption and operational leadership that benefit road users nationwide.

Prioritising What Matters

“Automechanika Johannesburg 2025 is built around the real priorities of our market: skills, standards, digitalisation, sustainability and safety,” says Michael Dehn, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt South Africa.

“By bringing the region’s leading voices together through the CILT and CRA conferences, the Right to Repair SA Talk, the MIWA Spanner Torque Pavilion, the Alexandra Automotive Industrial Hub Showcase, and the MasterDrive Fleet Safety Awards, we’re creating a practical platform for knowledge-sharing and partnership that accelerates progress across the automotive and logistics ecosystem.

“We’re particularly excited about the Township Development & Panel Discussion on empowering township SMMEs, which reflects our commitment to inclusive growth across the automotive value chain.”

Automechanika Johannesburg 2025 provides unparalleled opportunities to learn, connect and source solutions, from policy discussions and standards development to hands-on technology insights and peer recognition, all supported through the Business Matchmaking Programme, which is designed to maximise meaningful engagement and collaboration.

Whether you operate a workshop, manage a fleet, supply the industry, or shape strategy in transport, logistics or the automotive sector, the show offers a targeted agenda aligned to the sector’s most urgent challenges and opportunities.

Secure your place at these valuable conferences and be part of the momentum driving southern Africa’s mobility future at Automechanika Johannesburg 2025 which, this year, takes place at the Gallagher Convention Centre from 28–30 October.
