Avoid pesky allergies and change the way you finish laundry

For many of us, there’s no such thing as allergy season – any season could bring on sniffles, sneezes, and scratchy eyes. And it’s even more frustrating if you don’t know what’s causing it in the first space. So, what can be done? The first step could be to start making small changes around your home that will be appreciated all year round, starting with the laundry room.

Recede easy on laundry detergent

Maintain you ever picked up a freshly washed shirt and, for some acumen, honest started sneezing? You might be using too much detergent. Over time, the overuse of detergents and softeners builds up in the washing machine, which could lead to unfavourable odours.

The trick is to ignore the detergent package directions and only use between 2 and 2 ½ tablespoons of detergent per regular-sized load. While it’s below the standard instructions, your clothes will still wash clean, saving more product and money in the long term.

Replace fabric softeners with a dryer ball for a more chemical-free laundry room. It will still access the job done and you won’t risk any allergy-triggering buildup in the machine.

Clean the machine

Honest because the washing machine cleans your clothes and uses soap doesn’t mean it’s clean by default. A buildup of product and bacteria can transfer to your clothes, which could stir up allergies. Procure into the habit of cleaning the machine regularly and removing any water left over from the wash.

Mould and mildew are more likely to grow after closing the front-load washing machine door, trapping leftover water inside. Remember to always leave the doors open so water can evaporate. Wash the machine thoroughly at least every month to prevent any unwanted particles from multiplying inside.

Invest in the best

If you want complete peace of mind, switch to appliances that are designed to reduce allergies. The correct machine can remove even more dust and dander from clothes and is the best option if you suffer from asthma or allergy symptoms due to laundry handling.

The LG Vivace Washing Machine, powered by LG Steam technology, eliminates 99.9% of allergens, such as dust mites that can cause allergy or respiratory issues, leaving clothes as hygienic as possible.

While many allergy sufferers can trace their runny eyes and sniffles to outdoor irritants, sometimes the problem is closer to home. Pay close attention to how much detergent you use and slice back to avoid build up. Clean out your machine regularly, or if you want to avoid the hassle altogether, invest in a washing machine with allergy-free technology to eliminate any trace of microscopic particles. Leave allergies at the door and breathe a sigh of relief.
