Iconic La Montagne Hotel and Spa honest keeps getting better

La Montagne Resort, a Kwazulu-Natal perennial favourite with holidaymakers and travellers on the north coast, has raised the bar yet again with an exciting makeover. Shaun Lamont, Managing Director of First Group Hotels and Resorts explains why: “The tourism industry is highly competitive and fast-paced, so to stay ahead, it’s critical that we continuously invest in improving our facilities. La Montagne is unrivalled in its offering, providing everything you need under one roof for guests of all ages. Incredibly, our rates remain unchanged, with our goal simply being the enhancement of the guest experience, to ensure they always want to arrive back – and our guests are loving the changes!”

Located in the sought-after town of Ballito, a mere 45 minutes from Durban and 15 minutes from King Shaka Airport, La Montagne Resort is perfectly positioned for corporate conferences, a romantic rendezvous and of course that all-important, family beach holiday. All apartments and rooms gain been refurbished with quality fixtures and furnishings carefully curated to ensure guests’ comfort, providing a simple and sophisticated feel while not neglecting practicality. The stunning air-conditioned apartments are fully equipped with self-catering facilities, private balconies with gas braais and stunning panoramic sea views.

“The conference facilities believe also been upgraded, with a fresh, modern study and audio-visual equipment allowing for a “plug-in and play” experience,” says Lamont. “However, it’s not only the apartments, rooms and conference facilities that acquire been revamped but the restaurants too.”

Montinelli’s hits the spot for palatable Italian wood-fired pizzas while Polipetto (‘Baby Octopus’) has quickly become a favourite eatery, serving the freshest seafood with spectacular views. Guests are also spoilt for choice when it comes to enjoying light meals and alcoholic refreshments with the addition of The Beach Bar and Thirsty’s. With its free Wi-Fi and delectable coffee, Thirsty’s is the perfect spot for an early morning coffee whilst catching up on your emails and getting your daily dose of news. And with folding doors that open towards the Palm Terrace, depraved weather won’t dampen the fun! TVs gain also been strategically placed in Thirsty’s and the Palm Terrace, so no sporting event need ever be missed and if you’re looking for the best spot for a sundowner cocktail with a view, the Beach Bar is the perfect plot. Additionally, the much-loved Pumpkin Theatre has reopened, with incredible entertainment like live shows, music and comedy shows to hold patrons entertained throughout the year!

On-site outdoor entertainment also abounds with the newly upgraded pool and a kiddies’ splendid outdoor play area (with sand pit and climbing wall), or you can step out the gate onto a magnificent beach promenade to catch a leisurely stroll and dip your toes in the sea.

If you want to be pampered, the on-site luxurious spa has a range of wellness treatments, massages, manicures, and pedicures. Treatment rooms for singles or couples, extended trading hours, a relaxation area, a sunbed, jacuzzi, sauna and even a distinguished gift collection, all fabricate La Vita Spa a top choice for a bit of self-indulgence.

What’s next? Lamont says that an additional kids’ corner within the existing entertainment area is about to be launched, with a Teen Zone being created. A peaceful lounge space with its own bar and menu will also soon be available, where guests can relax or read a book. As a day visitor, you can also experience full access to all that La Montagne has to offer for an entrance fee, bearing in mind, however, that overnight guests always gain preferential access.

“La Montagne is the ultimate resort experience, catering for all ages and offering affordable, quality accommodation and modern facilities that will ensure every guest can fabricate lasting and magical memories,” he concludes.
