BMA prepares for massive influx of travellers returning to SA | SA News

MUSINA – The Border Management Authority (BMA) is expecting thousands of people,
to travel through the Beitbridge Border Post back to South Africa.

Commissioner Michael Masiapato is expected to lead an inspection team to assess readiness and also observe movements.

Earlier this week, Masiapato confirmed to eNCA, that at least 7000 undocumented migrants have already been intercepted at ports of entry.

Most illegal crossings have been taking place along the country’s western corridor, as many migrants avoid Beitbridge.

While some travellers say the cost of documentation is high, some insist that crossing the border illegally is wrong.
