City Medical Centre has created a Liberia page, citymedicalcentre.org, with information for patients in Monrovia. It links to pages on breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, bariatric surgery and hair transplantation.

What the price pays for
The Monrovia breast surgery page, citymedicalcentre.org, answers the cost question directly. Breast augmentation is listed from $4,700, and the page states that this covers the operation and what surrounds it: preparation with the surgeon, anaesthesia, one day in an inpatient room with meals and round-the-clock supervision, and twelve months of dressings, check-ups and surgeon follow-up. Consultations with the plastic surgeon are free.

Implants and incisions
The page explains that implants come in smooth or textured versions and in round or teardrop profiles, and are selected for each patient. With an under-breast or armpit incision and the implant placed under the muscle, lactation is usually preserved, the page notes, while a lift or reduction carries a higher risk because ducts may be cut. This is a topic to raise with the surgeon beforehand.

The months after surgery
Check-ups are scheduled at 7 days, 3 months and 6 months. Return to office work is described as usually possible after 7 to 14 days, walks after one to two weeks, fitness after four to six weeks and strength training after three months. The compression garment is worn for four to six weeks.

Before booking a flight
The clinic’s safety guide, citymedicalcentre.org, offers a checklist for choosing a clinic abroad and refers to NHS advice not to fly for five to seven days after breast surgery. It recommends planning the return flight with a few days of margin and asking the coordinator how many days to spend. The Monrovia hair transplant page gives the clinic’s daily contact hours as 07:00 to 15:00 Monrovia time.

Breast surgery has contraindications, and the decision on suitability is made at a consultation.

About City Medical Centre
