Can You Wait Until May 2026 for the All-new iCAUR 03T?

18 March 2026 by Guest

The distinctive iCAUR 03T electric SUV will launch in two derivatives, combining nostalgic design cues with modern technology and strong standard specification.

The 03T arrives in South Africa in May 2026, blending retro-inspired SUV styling with modern electric innovation.

Two derivatives will be available at launch (2WD and AWD), featuring 66 kWh and 70 kWh battery packs, respectively, with full performance and range details to follow closer to the launch.

High specification comes standard across the range, including LED lighting, panoramic sunroof, a 15.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a full suite of driver assistance systems.

iCAUR, the Chery Group’s adventure-focused SUV brand, is preparing for the debut of the new 03T, an exciting electric SUV set to bring retro-inspired design and modern EV innovation to South African roads. With a clear focus on character and originality, the 03T positions itself as a refreshing alternative to the more conventional shapes currently dominating the electric SUV space.

While futuristic styling is the trend of the moment, the 03T takes a different route. Drawing inspiration from classic SUV design and blending it with contemporary detailing, it delivers a look that feels confident and modern, yet unmistakably nostalgic. From its upright proportions to its bold stance, the 03T is designed to stand out at first glance.

Customers will have a choice of two trim levels at launch, each offering its own blend of specification and performance. The 2WD derivative is equipped with a 66 kWh battery pack, while the AWD model features a 70 kWh battery. Additional information regarding power outputs, driving range and efficiency will be communicated closer to the vehicle’s official launch in May 2026.

The 03T’s boxy silhouette may be retro-inspired, but its specification is firmly modern. Both derivatives come standard with LED headlamps and taillights, LED daytime running lights, and a panoramic sunroof. The vehicle rides on 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with 245/55 tyres, while braking is handled by ventilated front discs and rear disc brakes. Suspension consists of a MacPherson strut setup at the front and a multi-link arrangement at the rear.

Inside, the 03T continues its blend of comfort and technology. Both trims feature heated and ventilated front seats that are electrically adjustable, along with climate control and a 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Bluetooth connectivity and a suite of onboard infotainment features. An iCAUR sound system is also fitted across the range, with the 2WD offering an eight-speaker setup, while the AWD gains a more powerful 12-speaker system.

Safety forms a major part of the 03T package, with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems included as standard on both derivatives. Features include a 540-degree camera, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure prevention and adaptive cruise control, among others. Passive safety is supported by six airbags and ISOFIX child seat anchorages, while additional stability systems include ABS, traction control and ESP (electronic stability programme).

“The 03T is designed for buyers who want their EV to have personality,” commented Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager for iCAUR South Africa. “It blends a distinctive retro-inspired design with the benefits of modern electric performance and technology. We’re excited to introduce the 03T to the local market and share more details as we get closer to launch.”

Further announcements, including pricing, full specifications and final launch details, will follow in the lead-up to the 03T’s arrival in May 2026.

Adrian Gore – Discovery Holdings: \”When we started Discovery in 1992, the country was in a state of political turmoil. We saw an opportunity to create a business that could positively impact the healthcare system and we found a way to move forward,\” says Adrian Gore. Many consider Vitality to be Discovery\’s game-changer. It revolutionised the way businesses look at their clients and essentially places risk management outside of the company into the hands of the clients. This led to increased customer loyalty and clientele living longer, happier lives and created a win-win, because the healthier the users are the less they claim, and the longer they live the better it is for the company.
