Cape Town resident Nicci (Nicole) Arrison has launched the final phase of her fundraising efforts to send her daughter Qiran to Sicily, Italy, to explore the family’s Sicilian roots.

With approximately three weeks remaining to secure travel and accommodation arrangements required for a visa application, Nicci is appealing for public support through her verified BackaBuddy campaign. The funds raised will cover travel, accommodation, and visa costs to enable Qiran’s participation in the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The initiative has already seen creative local fundraising efforts, including homemade lasagna and bake sales that have received enthusiastic support from the Cape Town community. While these activities have helped, the family still needs to raise the remaining amount to confirm travel bookings required for visa approval.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far,” says Nicci. “This trip represents not only a personal dream for my daughter but also a chance for her to explore her roots, learn about her heritage, and grow through travel and cultural experiences.”

Supporters can contribute directly via the BackaBuddy campaign or assist by sharing the link to reach a wider audience.

Even my novels offer passages in which the major character is imagined as a writer. In Joss and Gold, Li An is a business writer who edits her company\’s weekly Public Relations magazine. And in Sister Swing, Suyin writes human interest stories for a free, local community paper, The Asian Time. – Shirley Geok-lin Lim

People as disparate as Malcolm X and John D. Rockefeller both spoke to the power and importance of public image. Since PR is something that people who are so fundamentally different can agree on, you know there must be something fundamentally important about it. If you \’re still not convinced that Public Relations is absolutely critical to the success of your business, you\’ll change your mind after visiting MyPR.co.za.

Sigmund Freud was tghe founding father of Public Relations, Edward Bernays’ “double uncle”. Sigmund was Edward’s mother’s brother, and he married Edward’s father’s sister (Martha Bernays Freud). That was a tongue twister, but aren’t you glad you learned a new term?
