Celebrated Illusionist, Rob Lake To Tour South Africa

26 March 2024 by Guest

For the First time in South Africa! One of the world’s most celebrated illusionists, Rob Lake will be in Cape Town with his internationally acclaimed show, “The Magic of Rob Lake” at Grand Arena, GrandWest on Saturday, 5 October and Sunday, 6 October 2024. Thereafter the show moves to Montecasino’s Teatro, Johannesburg from Wednesday, 9 October to Sunday, 27 October 2024. Take advantage of the Early Bird 20% special discount for selected shows across all ticket categories valid until midnight on 14 April. Get your tickets now before the Early Bird offer vanishes! Bookings are open at www.showtime.co.za or www.ticketmaster.co.za.

Rob Lake’s mind-blowing illusions dazzle and entertain millions at sold-out shows in arenas and theatres in more than 45 countries. Hailed “The World’s Greatest Illusionist” by NBC, Rob Lake is globally renowned for his grand illusions and elaborate theatrical interactive performances. His astonishing original illusions are uniquely presented as awe-inspiring storytelling on the grandest scale.

‘The Magic of Rob Lake’ is brought to South Africa by leading local show promoter and producer, Showtime Management. “Rob Lake is a world-wide phenomenon who has performed his original illusions in many of the best entertainment venues in the world. From Times Square, to the Las Vegas strip and Hollywood, we are delighted to bring his award-winning illusion spectacular to this country,” says Showtime Management’s Tony Feldman.

In 2008, Rob Lake became the youngest magician in history to receive the holy grail of the magic world — The Merlin Award – as ‘International Stage Magician of the Year.’ This award is magic’s highest honour and the industry equivalent of an Oscar.

In addition to creating and designing his own illusions, Rob Lake is the most sought after Architect of Illusion: serving as magic & illusion consultant, illusion designer, and creative consultant for multiple Broadway productions, Disney’s Aladdin, the Touring Hit Broadway Musical, Harry Potter philharmonic arena tours, Sesame Street Live, Walt Disney Imagineering and as the creative consultant and illusion designer for Adele’s Las Vegas Residency at Caesars Palace.

“New York hasn’t seen anything like what he does since Copperfield” raves Theatre Life while David Copperfield, who is regarded as the most successfully commercial magician in history says about Rob Lake, “His example should be followed by everyone in the magic profession”.

Rob Lake headlines in venues around the world bringing his physics – and sometimes even death-defying illusions to audiences across the USA and in more than 45 countries throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, The Middle East and soon to southern Africa.

Rob Lake dedicates time, support, and his voice to causes he holds near and dear to his heart – supporting members of the military and animal rescue. In fact, his own furry companion Roger, a Yorkie mutt, was once a rescue dog, and has become a popular part of his shows, as well.

Seeing is believing, or is it? Book now or miss the master of illusion, Rob Lake. Tickets on sale at www.showtime.co.za or www.ticketmaster.co.za. Ticketmaster is the ONLY official exclusive ticketing agent and tickets should not be purchased from any other supplier/outlets.
