Cook for a Cause at the 2025 Nicarela Potjiekos Competition!

Join us for a heartwarming Sunday filled with delicious food, community spirit, and giving back. The annual Nicarela Potjiekos Competition is back, and here’s what you need to know:

Event Details:
o Date: Sunday, July 27, 2025
o Time: Gates open at 9:30 AM
o Venue: George Hay Park, Lurgan Road, Parkview

What to Expect:
o 40 Potjiekos teams cooking up unique and flavourful dishes
o Servings of your favourite potjie will be on sale from midday, served with rice or pap
o Vegetarian options available
o Kids’ zone packed with fun activities
o Live entertainment throughout the day

Want to Enter?
o Team of 4-8 cooks can register for R400 and different pot sizes to choose from, size 9-20
o Dishes judged on taste, stall presentation and stall creativity
o Win the title/ the bragging rights of being 2025 Potjiekos Champions and “Best Decorated Stall”

All funds raised go directly to Nicarela Charity’s community programs which support shelters for abused women and children, local school bursaries, and homeless initiatives to name a few.
