JOHANNESBURG: The latest round of Hollywoodbets Pro50 fixtures in the Hollywoodbets Pro Series delivered contrasting outcomes across the country, with clinical chases in Potchefstroom and Cape Town, while weather intervened in Pretoria to halt proceedings.

At the JB Marks Oval, North West Dragons Women secured a convincing seven-wicket victory over Garden Route Badgers Women.

Batting first, the Badgers were anchored by an outstanding century from Mieke De Ridder, who struck a patient 109 off 140 deliveries. Nicolien Janse van Rensburg added 31 off 49, while Zizipho Mdebuka contributed 18 off 22 to help the visitors post a competitive total.

The Dragons’ bowlers laid the foundation for the win, led by Nthabiseng Nini (3/23) and Alyssa Erxleben (3/33), with Katlego Setlhodi claiming 1 for 34.

In response, the hosts chased with composure, thanks to a steady 68 off 125 balls from Deidre van Rensburg and a fluent 67 from Verunissa Reddy. Phebe Molkenboer added 27 as the Dragons reached the target with seven wickets in hand.

Meanwhile in Cape Town, WSB Western Province Women edged out DP World Lions Women in a thrilling two-wicket win at WSB Newlands.

The Lions posted 181/7 after being sent in to bat, led by Nonkululeko Thabethe’s composed 61 off 114 balls. Sunette Viljoen-Louw (40 off 50) and Jenna Evans (36 off 82) provided valuable support.

In reply, Western Province held their nerve in a tight chase, reaching 182 for 8 with two balls remaining. Leah Jones anchored the innings with an unbeaten 57 off 93 deliveries, while Kayla Reyneke injected momentum with a brisk 46 off 41 balls.

Delmari Tucker chipped in with 20, as the hosts sealed victory despite a spirited bowling effort from Sarah Nettleton, who returned impressive figures of 3 for 28, while Ntozakhe Raisibe (2/22) and Relebohile Mkhize (1/27) maintained pressure.

The third fixture between Fidelity Titans Women and Hollywoodbets Dolphins Ladies at Sinovich Park was abandoned without a ball bowled due to a wet outfield.
