This festive season, give the gift of a vibrant Durban summer day out, where cricket, culture and unforgettable entertainment come together. Durban is gearing up for its biggest coastal celebration as Kingsmead transforms into a high-energy festival playground between 28 December 2025 and 21 January 2026, welcoming fans of all ages for a season of colour, music and family fun.

This is more than cricket. It’s a full-scale lifestyle experience crafted for families, sports lovers, beach-day regulars and anyone ready to celebrate summer Durban-style.

Here is everything turning Kingsmead into the most exciting entertainment hub on the coast this festive season:

  • Local Performers – Expect bursts of local entertainers bringing the sound and spirit of the city to the concourse, delivering colour, rhythm and big Durban energy.
  • Dunk Tank Madness – Cool off Durban-style with crowd-favourite dunk tanks, designed for laughs, splash moments and non-stop entertainment for kids and adults alike.
  • Fun-filled activities for kids – Gates open 3 hours before the start of each match. All young fans are invited onto the field for the first hour after gates open. Kids are encouraged to bring a bat and soft ball, giving them a unique chance to play, explore and be part of the action before the match begins (weather dependent). In addition to cricket, fun activities for the kids include stilt walkers, balloon artists, and face painters.
  • Festive Giveaways & Surprise Activations – From Christmas cheer and New Year’s Eve excitement to summer surprises, fans can expect merchendise drops, festive pop-ups and memory-making moments throughout the stadium.
  • Massive Prizes Up for Grabs –
    • The chance to win big for a clean one-handed catch in Betway’s Catch R2 Million competition. Suzuki will also be giving away a brand new Suzuki Swift GL+.
    • Absa cardholders will enjoy ticketing discounts as well as a chance to win up to R200 000 at every live Betway SA20 match!
    • Switch will be giving away R5K at each match, and Castle Lite is back with their spin-and-win wheel.

Fans can join the stadium-wide #PutYourHandsUp celebration and stream the official Betway SA20 Spotify playlist, packed with stadium anthems, fan favourites and feel-good summer tracks.

Putting Instagram into a different context is about rescuing it from the tyranny of now, taking it back from the muddy river that everyone is pouring things into. As a poet, as a thinker, as an artist, I believe there\’s another way to experience the world, and another way to experience time.It can\’t all just be Public Relations and branding; it\’s about making meaning with signs around you. – Frances Stark
