Early Start to Voting Season

10 July 2023 by Guest

Tomorrow, Tuesday, 11 July 2023, DA Federal Leader, John Steenhuisen, will be launching the party’s voter registration campaign in Soweto as South Africa gears up for the 2024 General Election.

The week-long tour will include a visit to a car manufacturing plant in Rosslyn, Tshwane, to highlight the importance of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) to South Africa’s economy and foreign exports as national government begins talks to renegotiate this crucial United States trade agreement in the shadow of its support for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The tour will also include service delivery events in DA-led Midvaal where residents of Gauteng continue to benefit from the clean, accountable government of a DA majority.

Steenhuisen will be joined by DA Gauteng Provincial Leader Solly Msimanga MPL, Tshwane Executive Mayor Cllr Cilliers Brink, DA-led Midvaal Executive Mayor Cllr Peter Teixeira, DA Johannesburg Caucus Leader Cllr Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku, Vaal Regional Chairperson Cllr Prudence Hlanyane and Emfuleni North Constituency Leader Kingsol Chabalala MPL at the various stops.
