11 August 2026 – The High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Johannesburg, has refused yet another attempt by the four expelled South African Football Association (SAFA) National Executive Committee Members to challenge and reverse their expulsions.
The four (4) members – Emma Hendricks, Gladwyn White, Orapeleng Setlhare and Monde Montshiwa – sought to be given preferential treatment by the court ahead of the SAFA Elective Congress on 12 September 2026. They have approached several courts in a bid to challenge and reverse their initial suspensions and subsequent expulsions. They lost all these challenges presented across two divisions of the High Court. The four were ordered to pay SAFA’s legal costs following their fourth attempt last week and the matter was struck from the roll.
The expelled Members have repeatedly withdrawn or amended their case when faced with procedural shortcomings or substantive opposition, instead of allowing the dispute to be adjudicated on its merits.
The South African Football Association (SAFA) welcomes the decision by the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Johannesburg, not to grant their request for a preferential allocation on the opposed motion court roll.
