This morning, the Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) officially introduced Wesley Jacobs as its candidate for the upcoming by-election in the City of Tshwane’s Ward 57.

The by-election will take place on 21 January 2026.

The national leader of the Freedom Front Plus, Dr Corné Mulder, and the Gauteng provincial leader, Mr Jaco Mulder, also attended the launch at the Centurion Lake Hotel.

Grandi Theunissen, Freedom Front Plus councillor and caucus leader in the Tshwane Metro, used the occasion to emphasise the party’s commitment to restoring stability, rebuilding community structures and revitalising Ward 57.

Dr Corné Mulder described Jacobs as a leader who does not stop at making promises, but always ensures words are followed by deeds. His character and approach are fully aligned with the core values of the Freedom Front Plus.

During the launch, Jacobs undertook to diligently serve the residents of Ward 57 while rebuilding the Ward. He stressed that his goal is to improve people’s lives in tangible and measurable ways.

Jacobs stated that he is not ashamed to say that he is a believer and that his beliefs shape his leadership.

He added that the Freedom Front Plus is also unashamedly conservative and stands firmly on principles that build strong communities; and that the party will honour and protect these principles.

The Freedom Front Plus concluded the event by reminding those present that effective local government starts with dedicated councillors who put their communities first.
