This week the Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus), together with the DA and the Patriotic Alliance, played a decisive role in removing the Speaker of Kou-Kamma Local Municipality, Dudley Maasdorp.
Video footage of him allegedly pointing a firearm at residents and threatening them compelled the Council to act.
Such conduct directly undermines the core values of stability, order and respect for residents – values expected of any leader.
In the vote where the three parties joined forces, the Freedom Front Plus’s vote was the deciding factor in removing Maasdorp from his position.
This reinforces the Freedom Front Plus’s reputation as a reliable coalition partner firmly standing on sound principles and responsible governance.
The election of the Freedom Front Plus councillor Sharon Ferguson as acting Speaker is a clear sign of the Council’s trust in the Freedom Front Plus as a stable, orderly and credible role player.
The party wishes to emphasise that its actions were not driven by a hunger for power or position. Coalitions are formed only when service delivery, good governance and honourable leadership are the common goal.
The party remains willing to engage in honest discussions with any role player genuinely focused on promoting residents’ interests.
Above all, the people of Kou-Kamma should enjoy the benefits of a stable Council in their daily lives.
When a council functions in a disciplined and orderly manner, that stability flows directly into the administration – which is essential to treat residents with the respect they deserve while providing quality service delivery.
The Freedom Front Plus will keep ensuring that good governance, accountability and service delivery remain at the very core of local government in Kou-Kamma.
Freedom Front Plus Political Position: It is a right-wing political party.

He starts steering towards the pedestrian, grinning from ear-to-ear, then at the last second he swerves back onto the road. But he hears a terrific \’thud\’, and he glances left to see Van closing the door.
\”What the hell, man!\’ he shouts.
\”Jirrah\” says Van, \”You need to get those sights adjusted, china, If I hadn\’t opened the door, you would have missed him completely!\”
