The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) has, after thorough consideration, decided to re-enter a coalition with the DA in the interest of improving service delivery to the residents of George.

It is widely acknowledged that the George Municipality is currently facing significant governance and service delivery challenges.

The Freedom Front Plus could not remain indifferent in the face of these issues and has therefore taken this decision to serve the broader community and help address the difficulties confronting the municipality.

This step not only ensures that the interests of the Freedom Front Plus’s support base are better protected and advanced but also promotes stability and continuity within the current local government structures—ultimately to the benefit of all residents of George.

Given the diverse demographics of George, it remains essential that transparent governance and equitable service delivery to all communities are upheld at all times.

The Freedom Front Plus is confident that it brings the necessary expertise and experience to play a constructive and leading role in this regard.

Coalition governments are the future of South Africa, and their success depends on strengthening partnerships across political lines.

Mutual trust and respect between parties that share common values are crucial for effective governance in the public interest.

The Freedom Front Plus is confident that its coalition partners in George—the DA and the ACDP—uphold these same principles.

As in all municipalities where it serves as a coalition partner, the Freedom Front Plus will do everything in its power to ensure that the people of George reap the full benefits of a functional and stable coalition government.
