The global sensation that has united female motorcyclists across the planet is heading to Hartbeespoort. On Saturday, 18 April, the Women Riders World Relay (WRWR) will host an action-packed Ladies’ Day at the ADA Training and Outdoor Centre. Hosted by Morag Campbell from OpenRider – the VIP Ambassador and Golden Baton holder for April 2026 – the event is a call to all women to Ride, Learn, Laugh, and Connect.

The WRWR is more than just a relay; it is a global community breaking stereotypes. This South African event focuses on bringing together women who ride, those who haven’t been in the saddle for years, and those who are “bike-curious.” While the spotlight is on the ladies, partners and children are encouraged to join the fun; husbands can stay busy at the braai or take advantage of ‘bike washing privileges’ while supporting the movement.

Designed as a ‘no pressure’ environment, the event focuses on community and positive energy. Participation is open to everyone – you don’t need to be WRWR-registered to attend.

The lineup includes:

  • The Golden Baton Handover: Be part of the official WRWR ceremony with April Ambassador, Morag.
  • Pass the Baton & Try a Challenge: A series of fun social and rider development tasks for the WRWR community.
  • Stationary Motorcycle Experience: The thrill of ‘being on a bike’ for the first time.
  • Technical & Fun Sessions: Bike skills training, maintenance showcases powered by Motul, Pirelli know you tyre activity and the legendary “Slow Race” to test balance and control.
  • Kids’ Entertainment: A fun-filled Easter egg hunt for the children.
  • Tunes & Vibe: NickyB from Kaya959 will be behind the decks, sharing her deep love and knowledge of music to keep the energy high.

“The WRWR is all about the riding sisterhood and the confidence we build together,” says Morag Campbell, OpenRider Founder and WRWR VIP Ambassador. “As the Golden Baton holder for April, I’m thrilled to host this day at ADA. We want every woman to leave feeling more capable than when she arrived, whether she’s mastered a new skill or just made a new group of friends.”
Jordynne Engelbrecht, Trainer at ADA and EngelE Event Coordinator, says: “We want to create a space filled with good energy where women can try something new without any judgment. The support from the local motorcycling community and our sponsors has been phenomenal.”
Mercia Jansen, MD of Motul South Africa and WRWR VIP Ambassador in November 2026, is a driving force behind the partnership with this event, and she adds: “Motul is proud to stand behind initiatives like WRWR that bring more women into motorcycling. We’ll be supporting the maintenance talks and challenges to help women understand their machines better. It’s about being confident, independent and safe on the road.”

This event serves as a local heartbeat for the global WRWR movement, transforming a worldwide mission for visibility into a tangible experience of empowerment. By bringing together SA’s riding community at ADA, the day directly supports the movement’s goal of ensuring the motorcycle industry recognises and embraces the growing influence of women on two wheels.

The event is proudly supported by: MOTUL, BIKEWISE, HONDA, FAST KTM, TRIUMPH, EMX AFRICA, LANGSTON MOTORS, ALPINESTARS, BIKERS WAREHOUSE, TURKANA GEAR, ADMV STUDIO, PERILLI SA, DONNA REID DESIGNS, NICKYB GLOBAL, OPENRIDER, ADA, and EngelE.

\’Brave\’ is one of those words that has been bleached of most of its meaning these days, thanks to far too many appearances in the glaring light of ad slogans and corporate Public Relations. I never thought about anything as brave anymore; it just seemed like a flabby, glib cliche. – Susan Orlean
