Historic First Looms for Bulls Against Leinster

8 June 2025 by Guest

Croke Park will host the 2025 Vodacom United Rugby Championship Grand Final this Saturday, June 14 at 17:00, as Leinster and the Vodacom Bulls go head-to-head in a blockbuster clash of hemispheres.

As the No. 1-ranked team from the league phase of the Vodacom URC, Leinster have earned the right to host the game ahead of their South African opponents, who finished second in the table.

It will be a truly historic occasion as Croke Park — home of the GAA and Ireland’s most iconic sporting arena — hosts its first-ever rugby Grand Final.

Fans eager to get the best seats with a 10% early bird discount can register for a 24-hour pre-sale window that goes live tomorrow, Sunday, June 8 at 10:00, by signing up at: https://grandfinal.unitedrugby.com/register

Once the pre-sale window ends at 09:00 on Monday, June 9, general sale will begin at 10:00, with ticket prices starting from €20.

The game itself promises to be an incredible battle, with Ireland’s most decorated province facing South Africa’s most successful club side.

Despite the immense pedigree of both teams, neither has lifted the trophy during the Vodacom URC era. The Vodacom Bulls have lost two Grand Finals, while Leinster — eight-time league champions — will be competing in their first-ever Vodacom URC Grand Final.

Adding to the intrigue, two of Leinster’s three Vodacom URC Semi-Final defeats have come at the hands of the Vodacom Bulls. The quality on the pitch will be unquestionable, with stars of the upcoming British & Irish Lions tour lining up against a host of Springboks, including double World Cup winner Willie le Roux.

The game will be broadcast live on TG4 in Ireland and Premier Sports in the UK & Ireland, with SuperSport showing all the action for South African fans.

Kick-off is at 17:00 UK / 18:00 SAST.

Although Ireland has hosted the Rugby World Cup, they remain the only host nation that has not reached the semi-finals of the tournament. This demonstrates the competitive nature of the sport and the ongoing quest for Irish rugby to achieve greater success on the international stage.
