
JOHANNESBURG – Severe weather events have become more common in South Africa.
In many cases, authorities and homeowners are being caught under prepared.
SA Environmental Observation Network Dr Mary-Jane Bopape emphasised that South Africa continues to battle extreme whether events.
In a new study relying on international database of disasters Bopape revealed that KwaZulu-Natal leads as the province which experiences extreme events like floods.
Overall she says majority if the countries weather-related events include floods, storms, drought and even wild fires.
