Horrendous Killing of 2-Year-Old Child Allegedly by Father

7 October 2024 by Guest

POLOKWANE – The Acting Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Major General Samuel Manala, has strongly condemned the horrific murder of a 2-year-old boy allegedly by his biological father at Shongoane village in Villa Nora Policing precinct, outside Lephalale on Sunday, 06 October 2024.

The police responded to the scene at approximately 06:00, after they were alerted by the community. Upon arrival, they found the child’s mutilated body on a bed, and the 22-year-old suspect, who was in possession of some of the victim’s body parts, was arrested and charged with murder.

This senseless killing has left many in shock, and the motive behind it is still unknown. However, ritual killing cannot be ruled out.

Major General Manala emphasized that the suspect deserves the harshest sentence possible and urged the investigating team to ensure that justice is served.

The suspect is set to appear before Phalala Magistrate’s court soon.

Police investigations are still continuing.
