Horrific Limpopo Bus Accident

The DA in Limpopo is deeply saddened by the multiple fatalities caused by a horrific bus accident on the N1 outside Louis Trichardt yesterday.

A bus travelling to Zimbabwe allegedly lost control on the treacherous mountain pass near the Ingwe Inn and fell down the steep mountain.

While there are still passengers trapped inside the bus,42 fatalities, which include children, have been reported

The N1 remains closed in both directions; motorists travelling between Musina and Louis Trichardt are advised to use the Witvlag and Williespoort roads.

This tragic accident highlights the need for increased- road safety, visibility and efficacy of traffic law enforcement on our roads over the upcoming holiday season.

The DA calls for an investigation of accidents on the mountain passes in Limpopo to prevent the frequent accidents which often results in loss of life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families of the deceased during this very difficult time and hope that the injured make a complete recovery.
