Ithala’s Decade-Long Commitment To Dundee July Continues Uninterrupted

Ithala SOC Limited has once again reaffirmed its support for the much anticipated Dundee July for 2023. The financial institution has been an official banking partner of the event for over a decade, and its unwavering support continues uninterrupted. The event showcased the best horse racing, including a women-only race event. The 17th edition rural horse racing event aligns well with Ithala’s commitment to revamping rural economies through various activities across the province.

The event pumps over R15-million into the local economy over two days, creates well over 300 temporary jobs, encourages and trains youth to procure involved in fashion design and production, partaking in horse riding and horse care.

According to Ithala SOC Limited Chief Executive Officer Dr Thulani Vilakazi, “our commitment to the Dundee July has gone from strength to strength. As Ithala, we pride ourselves of being associated with the high standard of planning that the organisers of the event employ.”

Ithala’s support includes facilitating payments to the winners and sponsoring prices for fashion designers. This year, the financial institution has committed to sponsor Mr. and Miss Dundee’s July prices and uniform for jockeys. Dundee July will feature more than 10 races, including national and international participants.

“Our involvement in such a prestigious event is a privilege to us as a financial institution. We believe that our impact will depart a long way in assisting the formation of employment which contributes massively to the economic growth of the province. This year alone, we expect to create a lasting impact in the community of Dundee and the surrounds,” Dr Vilakazi said.
