South African Afro-Pop sensation, Kelani, is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of his latest album, “Raxa Dyambu”, which will be available from 25 October 2024. Ahead of the album’s official release, Kelani has already gifted fans with the lead single, “Raxa Dyambu”, offering a glimpse into the inspiring message behind the music.
The title “Raxa Dyambu”, meaning “The Sun Rises” in Xitsonga, captures the heart of the album’s theme: finding hope even in the hardest of times. Through his music, Kelani speaks directly to those facing life’s challenges, whether it’s in their relationships, finances, or simply feeling lost. His songs serve as a reminder that nobody is alone in their struggles and that there’s always light ahead.
Born Amukelani Bila in the small village of Mavambe, Limpopo, Kelani’s love for music started in the church. As a young boy, he sang in the church choir, where his passion for music grew strong. During his high school years, he started writing his own songs and performed with local gospel groups, nurturing his talent and creating a sound that reflects his deep connection to both his roots and personal experiences.
Kelani’s music is a vibrant blend of African rhythms, rich languages, and heartfelt storytelling. He creates songs that resonate with the everyday lives of people, drawing from personal and shared experiences. His goal is simple – to make music that not only entertains but also inspires and uplifts.
“I want my music to give people hope,” says Kelani. “Raxa Dyambu” is about knowing that better days are coming, no matter what challenges you’re facing. Like the sun rising after a long night, there’s always something to look forward to.”
Apart from being a gifted musician, Kelani is also making waves in the fashion world.
Kelani’s love for fashion is rooted in the same passion that drives his music – the desire to express African identity, culture, and stories in everything he does. His designs are unique, with each garment crafted to capture the essence of African beauty and pride.
