Durban, September 2025 – Lenmed Ethekwini Hospital and Heart Centre is proud to announce that its specialised stroke unit has once again been awarded the prestigious Diamond Status Award by the World Stroke Organisation (WSO), marking the hospital’s ninth consecutive recognition at the highest international level for stroke care.
The WSO Diamond Award is the most distinguished accolade in global stroke care, recognising hospitals that consistently meet and exceed rigorous international standards, including rapid diagnosis, timely administration of thrombolysis and thrombectomy, and adherence to evidence-based treatment protocols.
