Local Dealer Named as One of Global Top 100 Dealers of the Year

27 August 2025 by Guest

Hyundai Motor Group has officially announced Hyundai Pinetown as one of Global Top 100 Dealers of the Year, recognising the dealership’s remarkable performance, customer-centric innovation and market leadership in a highly competitive industry.

Hyundai Pinetown was named the best-performing Hyundai dealership in the world, out of more than 5,000 international dealerships. The KZN-based dealership distinguished itself through forward-thinking retail strategies and an aggressive, yet service-focused sales model. These efforts culminated in sales exceeding 250 vehicles monthly and servicing over 12 000 vehicles annually. This resulted in a commanding 33,7% market share in its regional territory, a benchmark achievement within the Global Hyundai Motor Group’s network.

José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company congratulated Hyundai Pinetown. “On behalf of Hyundai Motor Company, I express my heartfelt congratulations to you for being named as one of the Global Top 100 Dealers of the Year. Despite being a challenging year for the automotive industry, your exceptional performance stands as a shining example of perseverance, innovation and excellence. Your unwavering commitment has not only driven outstanding sales but has also fostered greater customer satisfaction and strengthened brand image to our customers.”

“The landscape of the automotive is constantly evolving and partners like you play an integral role in ensuring Hyundai’s continued success. Congratulations once again on this well-deserved honor and thank you for your outstanding contributions,” added Muñoz.

Stanley Anderson, CEO of Hyundai Automotive South Africa, also congratulated the team. “Hyundai Pinetown exemplifies what is possible when leadership, innovation and passion for customers come together. This recognition is not just about numbers. It is about setting a new benchmark in how we serve our customers in South Africa. We congratulate the entire Hyundai Pinetown team on their incredible global recognition.”

This award marks the first time a South African dealership has earned this level of global recognition. The Hyundai Pinetown team has shown that with consistency and a customer-first approach, even a dealership in a modest industrial town can set global benchmarks.

Dealer Principal Sidney Francis, who took the reins in 2022, credits the award to his team’s relentless commitment to adaptability and excellence. “We knew early on that to succeed in this competitive environment; we needed to be more than a dealership. We had to become a trusted mobility partner. This recognition reflects the dedication of every member of our team and the trust our customers have placed in us.”

National Budget: According to the 2017 Open Budget Index, South Africa was ranked joint first with New Zealand for having the most transparent budget in the world, with both countries scoring 89 out of a possible 100 points. The United States and Brazil are tied 7th with 77 points, while China is near the bottom of the list with 13 points. This level of transparency provides a positive business environment for investors and will attract either local or Foreign Direct Investment into the country to invest in new ventures.
