Luxury Automotive Brand Supporting Sailing

25 November 2025 by Guest

SailGP has today announced luxury automotive brand Hongqi as an Official Partner of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix 2025 Season Grand Final, presented by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, taking place on November 29-30.

The event marks Hongqi’s entry into the most exciting racing on water and SailGP’s first major partner from China. As part of the partnership, Hongqi will showcase its new vehicle – the Hongqi Golden Sunflower Guoya – across the event in Abu Dhabi, including through on-site branding and presentations, broadcast graphics, and other activations.

The Rolex SailGP Champion’s 2025 Season Grand Final is the culmination of 12 events across the globe, where after one last series of fleet races between 12 national teams, only three will race for the coveted Rolex SailGP Championship trophy – claiming the sport’s top prize of US $2 million.

Charlie Dewhurst, Chief Commercial Officer at SailGP, said: “This is an extremely exciting moment for SailGP as we welcome Hongqi into our growing family of partners leading into the Grand Final in Abu Dhabi. This is the pinnacle of the SailGP Season and we are thrilled to be back in Abu Dhabi, partnering with Hongqi as we broaden our engagement in the Chinese market.”

Yang Xiaocui, Vice President of China FAW Group Import & Export Co., Ltd at Hongqi, said: “We are thrilled to partner with SailGP to present the Hongqi Golden Sunflower Guoya during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. This collaboration between Eastern elegance and world-class sailing excellence represents a new chapter in luxury mobility. Together, we are not just showcasing a vehicle, but delivering an unparalleled experience that redefines luxury automotive and lifestyle integration for our global clients.”

Hongqi joins an impressive portfolio of partners behind the Mubadala Abu Dhabi 2025 Season Grand Final event, including Championship Title Partner Rolex, Event Title Partner and global league partner Mubadala, and presenting partner, Abu Dhabi Sports Council. Earlier this month, Mastercard was confirmed as official partner of SailGP’s Après-Sail experience. SailGP is proudly supported by global partners Oracle, Mubadala, Emirates, DP World, Accor and Apex Group.

Across the weekend, SailGP’s Race Stadium and Waterfront Grandstand will come alive with Après-Sail presented by Mastercard as well as hype hosts, roaming performers and F50 fly-bys just metres from shore – all against the stunning backdrop of the Arabian Gulf.

Adding to the drama of 12 national teams going head-to-head at electrifying speeds of over 100 km/h in identical 50-foot foiling catamarans plus the Grand Final, Mina Zayed will transform into the ultimate festival of sport and culture for the prestigious event.
