Masizole Mnqasela to Launch New Party at Rocklands Civic Center

12 July 2023 by Alan

South African voters left disillusioned by the empty promises of the ANC and DA will have a new and better option to choose from in the upcoming elections with the establishment of a brand-new political party headed by former Speaker of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament, Masizole Mnqasela.

Mnqasela says he is honoured and excited to be at the head of this new movement after he was approached by various community activists and leaders to create a viable political alternative that is aligned with the needs and wants of South African voters.

Mnqasela states clearly the current status quo can no longer be tolerated as South Africans are frustrated with the direction our country is headed.

Millions of people, especially youth, have either never voted before or have seized to do so because of the lies they have been fed by politicians for so many years. People are desperate for change and this new political party will provide the citizens of South Africa with the change we all need, he says.

“I decided to take up this new and refreshed mandate, and part ways with the DA, not only because of the denialist in the DA who denies the pains that still exist in our country that were caused by colonialism and apartheid, but also because South Africans are desperate for change. They are desperate for a viable alternative,” Mnqasela says.

The name of the new political party will be made public at its launch on Saturday, 15 July 2023 in Mitchells Plain.

Mnqasela states Mitchells Plain is one of the crucial constituencies the party will focus on during the upcoming national and provincial elections. “I have built a close relationship with this community throughout my 21-year political tenure, hence the decision to launch the party here.”

The Rocklands Civic Centre was chosen for the launch because of the significant role this hall played to free South Africa from apartheid. This is where the establishment of the UDF took place in 1983 which was the start of the largest political movement that united South Africans from all walks of life to fight against apartheid.

We hope to see all of you there tomorrow at the site visit ahead of the launch on 15 July 2023.
