WesBank, a leading vehicle and asset finance provider, today announced the formation of a strategic alliance with MG Motor South Africa, giving rise to MG Finance. This partnership aims to streamline the vehicle financing process and expand access to mobility solutions for South African consumers.
MG Finance, a product of WesBank, aims to offer a comprehensive suite of vehicle financing products directly through MG Motor dealerships. This simplifies the purchasing journey for customers, providing convenient, one-stop financing solutions. The agreement also includes floorplan financing, enabling MG Motor dealers to efficiently stock both new and used vehicles.
“The introduction of new value-for-money automotive brands has significantly revitalized the local automotive industry, particularly in the passenger car segment,” said Ghana Msibi, CEO of WesBank. “This growth is encouraging, and we are thrilled to partner with MG Motor South Africa to further expand vehicle options for South African car buyers. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to making mobility accessible to more people.”
Ian Nicholls, Senior Advisor at MG Motor South Africa, said: “The launch of MG Finance, in partnership with WesBank, marks a significant milestone for MG Motor South Africa. Providing comprehensive finance solutions is essential to making MG vehicles more accessible to our customers while ensuring a seamless and competitive ownership experience. Through this strategic alliance, we are not only empowering our customers with flexible and tailored financing options but also strengthening our dealer network with robust floorplan financing support. This collaboration underscores our commitment to growth, customer-centricity, and a long-term vision for MG’s success in South Africa.”
MG Motor South Africa launched in January 2025 with the introduction of two SUVs – the ZS and HS – and the all-electric Cyberster roadster. The company has plans to expand its local line-up with the focus on the growing B segment, featuring internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid variants, as well as an affordable battery electric vehicle (BEV) powertrain in the pipeline. .
To celebrate the partnership and support new customers, MG Motor South Africa has launched a finance assistance campaign, which runs until the end of April 2025. During this period, customers who finance their new MG vehicle through MG Finance will have the chance to win R200,000 towards their vehicle finance deal.
