Pretoria-based RMI/MIWA 5-star graded workshop addresses two concerns that keep car owners from making confident maintenance decisions.

PRETORIA, South Africa — Moreleta Service Centre has published two new educational resources for South African car owners: one unpacking the legal right to service your vehicle outside the dealership network, and another explaining what’s really going on when your steering wheel vibrates under braking.

Two Common Problems, One Underlying Theme

Both issues share a root cause: uncertainty. Many drivers assume they must return to the franchised dealer for every service or risk voiding their warranty. That belief often goes unchallenged for the entire ownership period, and it carries a real financial cost. Meanwhile, steering wheel vibration under braking is one of the most recognised symptoms on the road, yet what most people call a “warped disc” is frequently something else entirely, and that distinction shapes what the repair should actually involve.

Key areas covered across both articles include the Consumer Protection Act’s relevance to independent servicing, how digital service records hold up against a stamped dealer book, uneven brake pad material transfer, rotor thickness measurement, and the compounding cost of deferred brake maintenance.

The guides stop short of generic advice. Each one works through the problem in enough detail that readers can walk into their next service appointment knowing what questions to ask and what to expect.
