Mouthwatering derbies in Limpopo at the Hollywoodbets Super League Amplified festival – South African Football Association

18 September 2026 – The Limpopo edition of the Hollywoodbets Super League Amplified festival will offer three mouthwatering derbies in the eight matches to be played this coming weekend at the Oscar Mpetha Stadium at the University of Limpopo in Turfloop.

The Western Cape Derby is the first up on Saturday, 19 September 2026 when Stellenbosch FC takes on the University of the Western Cape (UWC) at 09h00. Stellies, who are bottom of the table in the SuperEra stream, are still in search of their first points after eight rounds of fixtures, while the students have been on fire with four wins in a row, including back-to-back 3-0 victories in their last two matches.

The Varsity Derby between the University of Johannesburg (UJ Ladies) and the University of Fort Hare (UFH) follows at 11h00. Separated by one point in second and third place respectively, both teams go into the match with indifferent results, with UJ Ladies coming at the back of a loss while UFH have a spring on their step after winning their last fixture.

On Sunday it will be the turn of reigning league champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies who will battle it out with the University of Pretoria in the Tshwane Derby at 11h30. Amatuks have scored seven goals in their previous two outings but come up against a table-topping team that is yet to concede or lose in the SuperEra group. In other games this weekend, on Saturday Copperbelt Ladies go toe-to-toe with a bleeding TS Galaxy Queens side that has lost their last two matches and conceded six goals in the process. This clash kicks off at 15h00 and will be followed by the battle between JVW and City Lads Ladies under the floodlights at 18h00.

The last encounter of the day will be the match between TUT Ladies and First Touch Ladies at 20h30. On Sunday Diepkloof Ladies and Richmond Ladies open the day at 09h00, while Ramatlaohle and Ezemvelo draw the curtain on the Limpopo festival at 15h00.

South African Football: They made their first appearance in the FIFA World Cup in 1998.
