9 February 2026 by Guest

JOHANNESBURG – Brietta Trading the authorised distributors of Mitsubishi Motors in Southern Africa is entering a new phase focused on strengthening brand relevance, deepening customer engagement and driving sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive automotive market. Central to this next chapter is the appointment of Takalani Bruce Mukhola as Managing Director.

Takalani Bruce is an experienced motor industry executive with more than two decades of experience spanning finance, dealership operations and executive management. His deep understanding of both the commercial and retail sides of the automotive value chain positions him well to unlock Mitsubishi Motors full potential in Southern Africa.

In his most recent role as Franchise Executive at Motus Holdings Limited, Takalani Bruce led the commercial division responsible for strategic growth and operational excellence across global brands including Isuzu, UD Trucks, MAN and Volvo Trucks. His leadership focused on performance discipline, dealer network optimisation and sustainable profitability.

Prior to this, Takalani Bruce served as Chief Financial Officer of Tshwane Rapid Transit, where he oversaw the finance and IT functions and played a central role in organisational strategy, risk management and long-term financial sustainability. His earlier career includes senior leadership roles at Sandown Motor Holdings as Dealer Principal: Mercedes-Benz Bus and Divisional Financial Manager, as well as executive finance positions at e-Logics Group (Imperial Logistics).

Takalani Bruce holds an MBA from GIBS (University of Pretoria) and an Honours qualification in Accounting Sciences, and is an active member of SAICA (AGA) SA.

“My focus will be on ensuring that every product we bring to market, every dealership interaction and every customer experience, consistently reflects what the Mitsubishi Motors brand stands for. With disciplined execution and a strong product offering, I believe Mitsubishi Motors can grow its presence and relevance with customers,” says Mukhola.

As Managing Director, Takalani Bruce is motivated by the opportunity to grow Mitsubishi Motors market share, elevate customer experience across sales, service and parts, and modernise retail and aftersales operations. Internally, his priorities include building organisational resilience in the face of economic volatility, while developing future-ready leaders and technical talent.

Supporting Mitsubishi Motors renewed brand focus is a strengthened product pipeline that reinforces the brand’s reputation for durability, capability and engineering excellence. Takalani Bruce looks forward to introducing the Mitsubishi Destinator in Quarter 1 of calendar year 2026 to the local market, alongside the relaunch of iconic nameplate the Triton during Quarter 2 of calendar year 2026), a vehicle that has long embodied Mitsubishi Motors promise of reliability and performance in demanding African conditions.

“Mitsubishi Motors is a brand with genuine substance and a proud heritage. What excites me most is leading a brand with such strong foundations into its next phase of growth, at a time when the automotive industry is evolving rapidly in terms of customer expectations, technology and retail models,” explains Mukhola.

Widely respected for his values-driven leadership style, commercial insight and ability to build inclusive, high-performance teams, Takalani Bruce brings a steady, disciplined approach to leadership.

“My aim is simple: to make Mitsubishi Motors the hero, powered by the right products, supported by strong dealers, and enabled by a disciplined, customer-focused organisation,” he concludes.
