Over 4.4 Million Ballot Registrations Received From Fans in 142 Countries Covering 15,083,752 Tickets

13 October 2026 by Guest

The extraordinary global demand for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 has reached new heights, with more than 15 million tickets applied for in just 12 days since the opening of the tournament’s ticket ballot on 1 October.

As of Monday, a total of 4,423,417 ballot registrations have been received, covering 15,083,752 tickets, with fans from 142 countries seeking to be part of the 14th edition of the Men’s Cricket World Cup. The United Kingdom (UK), South Africa, India, USA and Australia are leading the global demand, ranking as the top five countries for ticket ballot applications, respectively.

The latest figures represent a dramatic acceleration in demand since the ballot opened, with ticket applications having soared from one million last week, to more than 15 million in less than two weeks.

The response has been driven by fans from across the world who are eager to witness the biggest names, fiercest rivalries and most anticipated fixtures of the tournament, which will bring the world’s best cricketing nations together across South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.

ICC Chief Executive Officer Sanjog Gupta said: “The overwhelming demand for tickets is testament to the stature and appeal of the Cricket World Cup, the allure of Africa as a destination and the anticipation for the event generated by the ICC and its partners’ promotional activities leading up to the event launch.

“With a year to go, the ICC has planned an exciting runway of 360 degree activations, multi-platform campaigns and content line-ups, which will elevate the fandom associated the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027.”

The ticket ballot remains open until 23h59 (CAT) on 21 November, giving fans around the world the opportunity to register for tickets to Africa’s biggest cricket spectacle.

How the ballot works:

  • Entry into the ticket ballot is free and does not require payment at the point of registration.
  • Fans can submit one ballot entry per person, per match, and may enter the ballot for multiple matches across the tournament.
  • The ballot is not first-come, first-served, meaning fans have the opportunity to enter at any point during the ballot window without their chances being determined by how early they register.
  • Where demand for a fixture exceeds the available ticket allocation, access to purchase tickets will be determined through a randomised ballot process. Successful applicants will be contacted by email with information on how to access the ticket purchasing process.
  • Successful and unsuccessful ballot applications will be communicated via the email address that customers share during ballot registration.

Fans must note: No tickets are purchased or paid for during the ballot process.
