On 04 July 2026, the Cavendish Square parking lot will be transformed into a full race-day arena as Planet Fitness hosts one of its most anticipated Season 1 Hybrid Games events. Heats will kick off at 09:00 and the energy will keep building right through to 13:00. The music will be loud, the atmosphere will be electric, and the only question is whether you’ll be on the start line or cheering from the sidelines, both are more than welcome.

And if you happen to be at Cavendish Square for an entirely different reason that morning? Consider yourself lucky. This is the kind of thing you’ll stop and watch whether you planned to or not.

More Than a Competition: It’s an Experience

Simulation Saturday is not a quiet event. It is a full sensory experience, the kind that spills out of its venue and pulls people in from every direction. Expect a carefully curated soundtrack from our highly requested DJ, DJ BamBam, who keeps the energy high from the first heat to the last sprint, a pumped crowd that gets louder with every finisher, and the kind of atmosphere that turns spectators into supporters within minutes of arriving.

This is what Planet Fitness has always believed: that training is more powerful when it’s shared. When the music is right, when the crowd is behind you, and when the clock is running, people find something extra. Simulation Saturday at Cavendish Square is built to create exactly that moment.

What to Expect on the Day
Heats are staggered from 09:00 through to 13:00. Six stations. Twenty-three minutes. Run, SkiErg, Walking Lunges with Sandbag, Row, and Wall Balls. 2 minutes max effort at each, with 1 minute rest in between. Best totals logged, with top Male and Female per age group qualifying for the finals in November.
USN and Discovery Vitality activation stands will also be featured on the day to hand out samples, treats and hampers.

Want to Be on the Start Line? Here’s How
Spots are limited and tickets will not be sold on the day. Participants must register online in advance, complete payment, and receive heat confirmation. Entry is open to everyone from ages +16–70, Planet Fitness member or not.

In Their Own Words

“Planet Fitness has always been about more than just the club. It’s about community, about people showing up for themselves and for each other. The Hybrid Games is that spirit made visible. When you bring Simulation Saturday to a space like Cavendish Square, you’re not just hosting a competition. You’re creating a moment.

We’re not just South Africa’s #1 training club because of our facilities. We’re #1 because of the people who walk through our doors every single day, and this is how we celebrate them.”

People as disparate as Malcolm X and John D. Rockefeller both spoke to the power and importance of public image. Since PR is something that people who are so fundamentally different can agree on, you know there must be something fundamentally important about it. If you \’re still not convinced that Public Relations is absolutely critical to the success of your business, you\’ll change your mind after reading this selection of quotes.
