Pritchard replaces Fackrell

29 June 2023 by Alan

Ospreys’ tighthead prop Ellis Fackrell will miss the remainder of the U20 World Rugby Championship after suffering a shoulder injury in the opening round of competition in Paarl last Saturday.

He will be replaced by Cardiff Met’s Tom Pritchard who has already arrived in Cape Town to join the squad who are preparing to face Japan in the second round of matches in Stallenbosch this afternoon (live on S4C).

Wales will be looking to claim their first win of the campaign after a narrow defeat against New Zealand in their opening Pool A clash which saw Mark Jones’ side pick up two losing bonus points.
