POLOKWANE – Members of the Mankweng Crime Prevention Unit recovered illicit cigarettes valued at approximately R100 000-00 following a high-speed police pursuit in the Molepo area during the early hours of Sunday, 20 September 2026.

Upon searching the abandoned vehicle, police discovered a quantity of illicit cigarettes, which were seized including the suspect’s vehicle.
The following items were recovered:
- 18 boxes of Remington Gold cigarettes
- 168 individual cigarettes
The total estimated value of the recovered illicit cigarettes is approximately R100 000-00.
The suspect is still at large and police investigations are continuing to trace and apprehend him.
