Refugees in Durban say they have nowhere to go

About 400 legally documented refugees have camped outside Durban’s Refugee Reception Centre for a month, fleeing threats of violence

Hundreds of refugees legally in South Africa have spent a month camped outside a Home Affairs centre in Durban.
They say they cannot return to their homes because of threats of violence made against them.
eThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba has been criticised for saying in a recent media briefing that the group are seeking free housing.
According to Raphael Bahebwa, president of the Congolese Solidarity Campaign, the group only wants temporary accommodation where they will be safe from xenophobic attacks.
