Reiger Park shooting leaves families struggling to cope – SABC News – Breaking news, special reports, world, business, sport coverage of all South African current events. Africa’s news leader. | SA News

The families of the two women killed in last night’s shooting in Reiger Park, alongside the two Anti-Gang Unit police constables, say that they’re struggling to come to terms with what happened.

Family members spoke to the media during a visit of Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, earlier today.

One of the four people who were fatally shot has been described as generous, jovial, and dedicated to her family. 31-year-old Roleen Lessing died together with two SAPS Anti-Gang Unit members and another woman.

The two police officers were ambushed when they responded to gunshots in the area while on a crime prevention operation.

No arrests have been made so far.
