Government has extended its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Athule Mazula – a young, bright and optimistic journalist.
Mazula was a community media worker at Cape Town TV and worked closely with the Cape Town Daily News at the time of her death.
“Athule Mazula’s untimely passing is a great loss to the journalism fraternity because she was still young and had a great potential to contribute to the industry even more,” said Acting Director-General of the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS), Michael Currin, said on Thursday.
The GCIS said community media is essential in providing community oriented content that is diverse and serves communities in rural areas and small towns. – SAnews.gov.za
